OUR FINAL RIDE, OUR STRONGEST YET

The Wheel Housewives is the cycling team formed by members of the Creates Cool community, riding in AIDS/LifeCycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles. We’ve raised over $70,000 in the past two years—and 2025 marks our final year on the road.

AIDS/LifeCycle is more than a bike ride. It supports life-saving services through the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. This 545-mile journey raises critical awareness and funds in the fight against HIV/AIDS, and we’re proud to take part.

Why the Name?

We chose The Wheel Housewives as a fun way to stay grounded in community, humor, and connection while doing something physically demanding and emotionally moving. Each year, we’ve welcomed returning and new members, building a team culture rooted in support, laughter, and purpose.

Illustration of five women riding bicycles in a line, with speech bubbles. The first woman is dressed as a woman, holding a cocktail, and responds 'Thank you, you're welcome.' The second woman is dressed as a beast, with a dark wig, and says 'Beast? How dare you.' The third woman is a blonde in a pink dress, leaning forward. The fourth woman, in a pink dress with black hair, says, 'I'm shaking. I'm physically shaking.' The fifth woman is wearing a bright green dress, with her hair in a bun, and is riding a pink bicycle.

As a design firm, Creates Cool supports the ride by creating team gear, fundraising materials, and event graphics—bringing the same thoughtful design energy we use on architecture projects to community work like this.

“This ride changed the way I understand community and Pride. It’s physically challenging, but the support—on and off the road—makes every mile worth it.”
